Our quick DIY mudroom corner
It’s been a while since we shared our Quick weekend DIY home entrance makeover but we are still on a mission to create the home we love and today I share our 2nd project… A small DIY mudroom nook in the corner of our front porch.
So what is a mudroom?
A mudroom might seem like a new idea but they have actually been part of many American and European homes for years. Found in the entryway of a home this space is generally used as a place to store and remove footwear, outerwear, and wet clothing before entering the main house. It’s also a great area to store school bags and other items used outside of the home.
The purpose is to help keep the home clean and organised.
With 3 busy girls in our home, this makes a lot of sense to us. So, we created our own little mudroom nook in a corner of our front porch.
The corner of our front porch was pretty sad and always a mess. Everyone just dumps anything and everything onto the empty bookshelf. It was wasted space that needed to be utilized better.
Step 1 – Freshen up the space with a coat of white paint!
Step 2 -Rethink our storage options
We replaced our old bookshelf with this locker found at one of our favourite second-hand stores, Sinkhuisie Antiques and decided to have it powder-coated green. Inside and out! Profection Manufacturers are the best in the business.
Step 3 – Make it pretty!
I’ll let the photo’s do the “talking” from here… (Find all the links to where we shopped below.)
