DIY Flashcards for babies – 3-6 months

Last month I shared our FREE Printable flashcards for babies, ages newborn to 3 months. I loved seeing all the downloads and now I am even more excited to share our next set! Your little one has grown so much in such a short time…
- Baby’s eyesight is improving and they begin to see more clearly at varying distances.
- He / she may start to focus on and engage with flashcards for slightly longer periods and begin to track the images with their eyes.
- Some little ones may even show interest by reaching toward the cards.
- Flashcards with simple, clear images with a “splash” of colour can be introduced.
- In fact, somewhere between 3-6 months babies start to distinguish between bright, primary colours such as red, blue, green and yellow. They are not only developing their sight but also learning to recognise different colours.
Just a quick recap incase you’re wondering why flashcards for babies are useful…

Now for our FREE printable!
Simply click on the link below to download the entire set to print at home, or at your closest print shop.
* I prefer printing on cardboard for a little added durability and find A5 size easy to handle and big enough to keep baby’s attention.
Remember…
I love using these during tummy time, stuck against the wall at our nappy changing area or even in the car BUT flashcards are just one part of a broader approach to early learning. Babies always learn best through direct interaction, play, and exploration. A mix of activities such as talking to your baby, reading books, singing, cuddling and physical play are all crucial for development. Happy playing mom and dad, you’ll miss these early days soon enough.
