5 ways to style boyfriend jeans
* This post is sponsored by Superbalist.
Let’s talk “boyfriend jeans“. Marilyn Monroe wore them first back in the 1960s and showed us all how a traditionally masculine look could still be feminine and cutting edge. Now, decades later this style of hip-hugging, baggy pants is back and I couldn’t be happier. Rivaling the skinny – boyfriend jeans are a staple and every woman deserves at least one pair. Just don’t have them confused with mom jeans. The boyfriend jean needs to be baggy around the leg yet fitted around your waist. Comfortable yet stylish and no flared bottoms, please… Superbalist has a great selection of boyfriend jeans in every shade of denim. Once you’ve found a pair you love, you’ll be surprised at the many ways you’ll be able to wear them. Just to help you get inspired, I’m sharing my favourite 5 ways to style boyfriend jeans…
Keeping it classic…
A crisp, white tee (another fashion staple) combined with simple, sleek accessories creates a timeless look that never goes out of style.
Dressing them up…
Boyfriend Jeans go with any shoe but heels definitely make them “party ready”. Go for a cropped pant length to show off your shoes and add some sparkle or maybe even a touch of faux fur for a night on the town.
*Alternatively, simply roll up longer-length boyfriend jeans to create your own cropped look.
Cool & Casual…
Boyfriend Jeans are already cool and casual. Adding a crop top or the right graphic tee and sneakers is the icing on top. Just be sure to look for something a little more fitted. “Slouchy from head to toe” is a look only very few GEN Z’s can pull off. A button-down shirt over a pretty crop top also provides a bit more coverage if needed.
warm things up…
Boyfriend jeans aren’t just for summer. Don’t be scared to add boots, a pretty sweater set, a fitted coat, or a leather jacket to stretch this look beyond warm seasons. Make sure not to over-accessorise – too many layers at the top can make you look frumpy.
Effortlessly chic…
I’ve left the best for last… Channel your inner Marilyn by recreating her iconic look with a button-up shirt. Go super girly with her signature red lips and curls. Add shoes and a handbag to match the occasion and you’re ready for any event.
