I love it cause you get to spend time with family and friends enjoying the beautiful weather and the great outdoors. Living in Cape Town makes it even better cause we have a wide variety of things to do, from enjoying our beautiful beaches to exploring the magnificent Table Mountain.

The biggest reason I love our Sunny South African Christmas is because I get to spend it with our various families from my family to in-laws it’s such an amazing time to make lifelong memories xxxx

    • Reply Mari-Louise Dec 16, 2016 at 12:46 pm

Family really is what makes the holidays! Thanks for sharing Bianca.

I love our sunny South African Christmas as its a time where we get to be with family, outdoors having a braai and just get to enjoy ourselves and actually engage in one another.
Having lived overseas for many years we longed the sun and family being together on Christmas Day so we now have it and we don’t take it for granted.

    • Reply Mari-Louise Dec 16, 2016 at 12:44 pm

Having a braai… Bhavisha, I think you’re going to like the hamper even more as it grows! wink wink 🙂

  • Reply Eden Dec 16, 2016 at 10:29 am

We live in such a beautiful country and there’s nothing better than spending the holidays with family and friends in the great outdoors. Swimming, hiking, wine tasting and so much more 🙂 The summery weather also makes for beautiful photos we can look back on the following year.

    • Reply Mari-Louise Dec 16, 2016 at 12:47 pm

I like it Eden! Especially the photos… I’m such a sucker for capturing memories.

  • Reply Nienke Smit Dec 16, 2016 at 1:28 pm

Christmas in sunny South Africa means you can be creative with your christmas tree. One year on a Christmas holiday in Stilbay, we picked up some branches, painted them white, and made lovely seaschell ornaments to hang. Looked so festive with lots of fairy lights!

  • Reply Julie Jones Dec 16, 2016 at 5:36 pm

There’s nothing quite like spending lazy afternoons outside in summer, and it’s even better at Christmas because then the family is all together. I’m really looking forward to spending our first Christmas with our 9-month-old daughter and loved ones next week 🙂

P.S. I’d love to win this amazing hamper! I’ve signed up for your newsletter and shared on Twitter (@mrsjulieljones)… 🙂

I get to share this amazing sunny time of the year with all the people I love. The long shopping list is my only challenge, the rest a few of my passions. Create amazing festive food ▪ tapas and wine, homemade ice-cream. Pretty wrapped gifts under the tree. Colourful pool floats for cooling down. Capturing it all & sharing it later as framed gifts.

  • Reply Rushannah Job Dec 18, 2016 at 6:04 am

Love Christmas in summer cause we can be out and about visiting family and are not constricted by snow to one household. Normally going around to different family members homes leads to the kids getting gifts at all the houses, a sort of Santa where they give and collect gifts. It’s normally inexpensive things but they are excited for the experience in itself

  • Reply Sharleen Dec 18, 2016 at 10:58 am

Sunny Christmas means a choice of menu to accommodate the hot day. The bonus is we can celebrate outdoors with family and play games with the kids too. All about Family, fun and Sun ?

  • Reply Hayley Dec 18, 2016 at 12:22 pm

These long hot lazy days remind me of my childhood….and while we might not have snow…there sure is something magical about it all. I adore our sunny Christmas!

  • Reply Nicola Meyer Dec 18, 2016 at 2:42 pm

I love that we can have a braai or the usual Christmas lunch depending on how we feel. We can even go to the beach for a late afternoon walk to walk off said Christmas lunch.

Sunny South African Christmas – where families and friends come together to celebrate a special day, sharing moments of laughter and joy…. in South Africa theres no spesific way to decorate your house or Christmas tree… each has their own unique touch and if it rains or the sun shine on christmas day… everyone is still happy as if the sun shines! The feeling of Christmas in South Africa is so unique and special. Theres no place like home to spend christmas… everywhere in the shops, the houses you drive by and some streets have christmas ligths, there is no better Christmas spirit then in our beautiful land of cultures ?

I love our sunny South Africa Christmas because it is fantastic to be able to enjoy a day outside with the people I love. The grown ups get time to act like kids again by embracing the weather. We are so blessed to be able to swim and play the day away with the kids. I love being able to be in nature and everyone having a smile on their face and just enjoying the Christmas sun.

    • Reply Mari-Louise Dec 20, 2016 at 7:15 am

Family fun in the sun is the BEST! We have the same day planned.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The festive holiday cheer is in the air & you can feel the electricity running through your whole body. Yes the snow is fantastic but being with your family in the shining sun, outside in the fresh air, eating a delicious meal & having some good laughs is simply extraordinary ?

  • Reply Durdana Khan Dec 19, 2016 at 2:29 pm

I personally don’t celebrate Christmas as i am a Muslim. But the festive season just brings about lots of happy and positive vibes. It’s so amazing to see the malls full of life and smiles where even the sales assistants are super happy. December is always the most exciting month because everyone is usually on leave so family get togethers are exciting. Lets not forget the awesome fruit that are in season during this time of year. This is my first December with my baby. She’s 3months and it’s very exciting

South African Christmas makes the warm hearts of South Africans shine brighter than any other time of the year. You can see it from the happy faces assisting you in the retail shops right through to the generosity of someone leaving a bigger tip after enjoying a lovely meal. The best still remains the excitement on the little ones faces when seeing yet another Christmas tree and ultimately opening the long awaited presents. I can’t wait to share my little boy’s first Christmas this year and one day teaching him what Christmas is really about. Although this year won’t be as sunny, being around family will still give us that warm Christmas feeling.

I also love giving great gifts and this year, more than ever before the amazing variety of lovingly made, proudly South Africa goodies available! Xoxo
