Fujifilm Instax Mini 11 review: Is it better than the Mini 9?
INSTAX Mini 11 – the follow-up to the super popular Mini 9 (top-selling camera of the Instax family) – IS HERE!!!! So, you know what that means… Time for us to play and do a little Instax Mini 11 review. Let’s find out if the upgrades make the Mini 11 better than our beloved Mini 9.

The on-trend pale colour pallet keeps things fun!
And thoughtful details such as the embossed INSTAX logo over the film door and wristband adds to the designer esthetic of the Mini 11.
I can’t help but want to pick it up and start snapping away!
New extra bits to personalise your Mini 11 include button covers. Choose between a glow in the dark or a jewel button.
I did give these a go but, call me old-fashioned, I still prefer a “clean button”.

Don’t you just hate being out with friends or visiting someplace incredible, trying to capture the scene with your instant camera only to get a photo of yourself – no background included…?
The “Automatic Exposure” function, helps you take better photos no matter the lighting conditions. That means no more precious film wasted while trying to figure out which setting works best!
The Mini 11 automatically senses the level of ambient light when the shutter button is pressed, adjusting the shutter speed and flash output according to your surroundings.
Basically it gives you just the right amount of “flash” to keep both the subject and background correctly exposed. It’s especially handy for nighttime and indoor photos.
Perfect selfies and close-ups!
Getting super close or snapping up that selfie is easier than ever with the Selfie Mode feature.
Yes, the Mini 9 had an adaptor for this – but I never really knew what it was for and lost it on our first trip away. Now Selfie Mode is built-in and can be activated simply by pulling out and extending the front end edge of the lens.
The focusing distance is around 30-50cm away and as always, you frame your selfie by checking the little mirror panel on the side of the lens.
It’s such an easy feature, even Lia (age 5) took perfectly, crisp, clear images on her 1st try.
What could be better?
The Mini 11 has definitely impressed and made me fall in love with the Mini range all over again. If I had to nitpick, I would ask FUJIFILM to come up with better ways for us to personalize our cameras. Maybe stickers or markers to doodle a fun design into the cameras. The button covers (that keep falling off) is only a start…
Final thoughts on the INSTAX Mini 11
The Mini 11 makes taking good instant photos easy! It basically does the thinking for you while you focus on sharing the fun with friends.
It also performs far better than the Mini 9 in terms of image clarity, ease of use and exposure.
The Mini Liplay and Share SP-3 Printer still hold the top spot as our favourites. Only thing is, they don’t give the same instant satisfaction, excitement and joy as when you press the shutter button of a INSTAX Mini 11.

It’s so awesome, I love love love photos, it’s full of memories and feelings. I normally get my little photos for the fridge, the office and every little space open from Nifty250 and even though I will still support them, I will truly love having my own little Insta Mini.

First I just have to comment on how incredibly beautiful and elegant the colours are! I am obsessed that we are able to take photos in any lighting and focus on clear selfies. I’ve got sooo many photos of my little ones stored either on my phone or a hatd drive just waiting to be printed (and yes I’velost so many of them too with a hard drive crashing. That was a nightmare as I’m very over capturing those moments and having them to look at forever). This feature by far is the best for me personally. The most important thing about photography is background and lighting. I love love love the fact that the lighting is much better with the Instax Mini 11. I did nightlife photography with my mini 9 and i would sometimes waste a few films because of the lighting. It was my extra income as i sold the films to people as memories. Unfortunately my instax mini 9 got stolen along with my case and a few films. Im excited and would like to thank the Instax team for the opportunity to enter this competition . I absolutely love that the camera and the flash keep the exposure of the entire photo balanced so that you can see the subject and background perfectly!
I absolutely love this!! My little girl is a “ let’s say cheese” girla and would absolutely love to capture those moments with het.
Looove the fact that the background is able to be lighter 😍
I love the fact that it has an automatic exposure option!!! And a glow in the dark button because sometimes I struggle to find the button in a dark room.
Hmmmm think this would be the perfect gift for my daughter as she is now in that phase where she can’t wait to have her photos developed!!
Also the feature that the images aren’t dark anymore is a plus!

Wow I’ve always wanted a Polaroid! The automatic exposure function makes this Polaroid even more desirable and I’m glad I have waited to invest in such a camera!

I use my xiaomi phone to take pictures. But for some reason my pictures never come out nice. My favourite feature is the constant firing flash (automatic light adjustment), effective flash. This will help me take better photos. This automatic exposure feature sounds epic
