Koco Bino Boutique: A taste of Europe made in South Africa

November 3, 2017

Now let me start by saying, I pride myself on knowing the best in the biz, well at least when it come to kid’s fashion. After all, we have 3 girls… But, I must have been asleep for the past couple of years seeing as I only recently discovered a gem in the kiddies fashion industry… Koco Bino! Established in 1978 (MY mama could’ve been a client), this quaint boutique opened its doors as Sandton City was introduced to the retail lovers of Joburg. I’m not sure if any other store can boast about being part of Sandton City from day 1?

In 2015, after working with upmarket local and international brands for years, this family-run mommy-and-baby boutique launched Koco Bino for Kids.

Inspired by timeless European style and with a vision to create unique, stylish baby and kids clothes of the highest quality. The entire range is manufactured 100% locally (even the gorgeous fabrics are printed in SA).  The range is available exclusively at Sandton City (Shop U81A) and also online at www.kocobino.co.za. You’ll find stunning collections especially designed from birth to 8 years, best of all, they have an extensive boy’s collection too!

I simply couldn’t resist playing dress-up with Ava in some of their prettiest looks for this season.

Babies in beanies, is there anything more adorable? YES. Babies in beanies with bows! Although big bows are very “on trend” at the moment I didn’t expect to like the look but the photo says it all, I’m sold!

This little white and pink ensemble from previous season is still irresistible and perfect for those casual days spent at home or running a few errands with mom. No more; “Aaah, what a cute boy” or “Is that a girl?” comments. The feel of the fabrics are incredible, made from a 100% cotton. The romper and beanie are both super soft and easy to wash and wear.

I’m a sucker for bloomers! Add pom-poms and a wide brim sun hat, even better.

Bloomers are the best and so versatile. Wear it alone, or with a tee, with socks or leggings, on really warm days and cooler ones too. It’s probably my favourite item of baby clothes and I’m always looking out for pretty ones to add to our collection. The yellow Bianca bloomer and sunhat are summer must-haves, paired with the prettiest scalloped edged crop top.

This look is pure happiness and I can’t wait to get my hands on the Agata red and navy version too.

Then the “showstopper”…

Yes, we mamas go a little crazy when is comes to birthdays, christenings and other special occasions and I’m not apologising for that! There’s nothing wrong with wanting to have something “nice” to wear when going to or doing something “nice”. Why not?

Finding a unique and pretty outfit can however be the challenge. Koco Bino’s got you covered! They have some seriously gorgeous party dresses and even offer dress making services especially for Christenings and Baptisms.

I fell in love with the Aria dress but can you blame me? The sheer floral fabric and touches of satin… Ava had both her sisters green with envy and I have to admit, I wouldn’t mind a skirt version of this. Another big bow alice band added the finishing touch to this outfit, ensuring next level baby ogling everywhere we went.

From casual to cool to chic Koco Bino has kept me impressed.

To keep up with the latest fashions available at Koco Bino and have a look at their exclusive range of mommy and baby goods, follow their Instagram @kocobino, like their Facebook Page and shop to your heart’s content on their online store.

Special thanks to Tiger’s MilkLynnwood for letting us hang out and use their incredible space for our photos. Open daily for lunch and dinner. They have mocktails, “Damn Fine Milkshakes”, home-brewed draughts and REAL food. I can’t wait to take Mr. Perfect and the girls for some good eating. You can read more about them as well as all the pretty clothes I’m wearing in this feature here.
